Lecturer: A leading curator from Palazzo Strozzi

This tour has been designed to coincide with the wonderful exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi, highlighting work by John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, James McNeill Whister and others.

Under the dynamic leadership of James Bradbourne, Palazzo Strozzi has become the most exciting exhibition space in Italy. We will visit the exhibition and explore the Florence of Sargent, Henry James and Edith Wharton.

This was the golden age of Anglo-American society in Florence and we will explore the romantic villas and gardens on the surrounding hills notably La Pietra, former home of Sir Harold Acton, the Villa Medici at Fiesole with its garden designed by Cecil Pinsent and Geoffrey Scott, the romantic Villa Gamberaia and Bernard Berenson’s Villa I Tatti.

Dates	Friday 27th to Monday 30th April 2012
Cost	£1,350 This includes Half Board plus two dinners, all lectures, coach trips and entry fees. We reserve the right to adjust the price should there be a significant alteration in the rate of exchange. Please note that the cost of air travel is not included.

Hotel	The Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni is our latest discovery. A charming hotel in an excellent location on the corner of the elegant Via Tornabuoni and the Arno, it has pretty and comfortable rooms and incredible views over the city from the rooftop breakfast room and bar.
Single Rooms	There will be a supplement of £320 for single occupancy of a double room.
