Sant’ Andrea al Quirinale (beautiful church by Bernini)

San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane (early work by Borromini)

* Vatican - Sistine Chapel and Stanze (a unique chance to

see masterpieces by Michelangelo and Raphael in total

peace and quiet)

Thursday

St Peter’s Basilica (the high point of Bernini’s career as a

sculptor and architect, + Michelangelo’s sublime Pieta)

* Private Palazzo (vast, princely palazzo)

Palazzo Farnese – exhibition of the incredible treasures of the

Farnese Collection (paintings by Titian and Annibale Carracci)

Piazza Navona (the finest square in Rome with the Fountain of

the Four Rivers by Bernini)

Friday

Villa Borghese (superb sculpture by Bernini, and paintings by

Caravaggio, Raphael and Titian)

Santa Maria in Trastevere (exquisite mosaics)

Lunch * Private Palazzo (with the owner in a splendid Baroque

Palace who will explain his fine art collection)

Pantheon (built by the Emperor Hadrian)

Saturday

Capitoline Museums (the heart of ancient Rome)

Palazzo Doria Pamphilj (masterpieces by Caravaggio and

Raphael, and the famous portrait of the Pope by Velazquez))

* Villa Medici (the finest Renaissance garden in Rome)

Free time

Dinner * Private Palazzo (with a descendant of one of the most

ancient Roman families)
