Palermo and Western Sicily

Palermo is a fascinating city with wonderful Norman treasures most notably the mosaics in the Capella Palatina, La Martorana and at Monreale.

We will venture out along the coast to the little fishing village of Cefalu, with the famous mosaic of Christ Pantocrator in the apse of the duomo, and also to the magnificent Greek temple at Segesta.  We are lucky to have been invited to a number of resplendent palaces still in private hands.

Hotel: The Villa Igiea has long been our favourite hotel in Palermo for its position on the Bay of Palermo and its elegant Art Nouveau interiors.  It is now part of the Rocco Forte group and has had a luxurious and glamorous refurbishment bringing new levels of comfort and excellent service.  Our accommodation will be in Double Superior rooms but there will also be the opportunity to upgrade to a Deluxe room with a view of the sea.
